Examination Details

Examinations’ Rules.

✔ A student will be eligible to appear in the Annual Examination if he /she have 75% attendance.

✔ For any unfair means committed by any student within the Examination will face disciplinary action as decided by the school authority.

✔ Guardians must examine the Progress Report Cards carefully and do all in their power to help the children make improvements in the subjects in which they are weak, in the light of the remarks of the Academy.

✔ Unless all dues are cleared and Projects of the examination are not been submitted by the students, the Progress Report Cards (P.R.C) will not be issued.

✔ In case of absence, no special exam will be taken at any stage later.

Custodian of Progress Report Card (P.R.C): The Progress Report Card (P.R.C) shall be collected from students by the concern class teachers as per the dates mentioned in the academic calendar and hence it will be deposited to the office of the Principal. It is always to be kept in the custody of the class Teacher/academy before Annual Examination.

✔ No any corrections are to be made for any Unit Test Copies or Half Yearly copies which shall not been verified in the school and would be brought from their home. But corrections are to be made for those copies which shall be verified in the school at the time of distribution.

*No teacher shall be allowed to change any question in the Question Paper within the Examination Hall without the permission of the Principal. No teachers shall be compelled for doing this by any one.

✔ In the Examination hall no any papers, books or copy shall be allowed to bring with him/her except the hard board where no any written statement can be found on it.

✔ Students shall deposit their Monthly Tuition Fee Book in the School office for verification before Half Yearly & Annual Examination without fail as per the instruction mentioned in the Academic Calendar. It is compulsory to collect the Admit Cards to sit in the Half Yearly & Annual Examination

Declaration of Result:

✔ To secure promotion one must pass mark in all the subjects and the marks obtained in the Unit Tests, Half-Yearly Examination may be taken into consideration for promotion to the next higher class.

✔ No children will be promoted unless they obtain the minimum marks as specified in the rules. However the case of the children who fail to obtain the minimum marks would be considered by the Examination Sub-Committee on the basis of the performance in the other examinations and the general run of work throughout the year.

✔ No appeals would be considered after the publication of the promotion list.

Decisions on Student’s promotion:In all questions of promotions or failure, the Principal’s decision is final.


The Evaluation Procedures of Examination:

The evaluation procedures for different classes shall be different.

For classes Preparatory & Nursery:

✔ 20% (twenty) from Half-Yearly Examination and 80% from the Annual Examination is to be carried on for final assessment.i.e.20% H.Y Exam + 80% Annual Exam.

For the class K.G:

✔ 10% (ten) from Unit Tests ,10% (ten) from Half-Yearly Exam, and 80% marks from Annual Examination are to be carried on for final assessment. i.e.10% Unit Tests +10% H.Y. Exam+80% Ann. Exam.

From class I to VIII :

✔ 20% (twenty) Unit Tests , 30% from Half-Yearly Exam and 50% marks from Annual Examination and Preparatory Examination (for Class-X) are to be carried on for final assessment.

i.e.20% Unit Tests +30% H.Y. Exam+50% Ann. Exam. 20% (twenty) Unit Tests , 30% from Half-Yearly Exam and 50% marks from Annual Examination are to be carried on for final assessment.

For class IX and X:

The distribution of marks for the subjects English, General Mathematics, General Science, Social Science, M.I.L (Assamese or Hindi) and the Elective subjects:-(Advanced Mathematics, Computer Science and Geography)

✔ for the Half-Yearly, Annual and Pre-Board Examination of Class-X will be as follows (As per the SEBA guidelines)

  • English : Theory 90 Marks + I.A. 10 Marks
  • Gen Mathematics : Theory 90 Marks + I.A. 10 Marks
  • Gen Science : Theory 90 Marks + I.A. 10 Marks
  • Social Science : Theory 90 Marks + I.A. 10 Marks
  • M.I.L : 100 Marks
  • Elective :
  • Adv Mathematics : Theory 90 Marks + I.A. 10 Marks
  • Computer Sc : Theory 80 Marks + Practical 20 Marks
  • Geography : Theory 90 Marks + I.A. 10 Marks

Note : As per SEBA guidelines :-Pass mark is 30 (both written examination and practical combined). In the written examination students should obtain 27 Marks out of 90 (30%). In Advanced Mathematics & Geography 27 out of 90 and 3 marks out of 10 in Internal Assessment. But students should obtain 24 Marks out of 80 (30%) and 6 marks out of 20 (30%) in Computer Science


Comments on the Evaluation Procedures:

The classes Preparatory & Nursery have been exempted from the Unit Tests. Instead of the unit tests, some practical Progressive Test or credible system of internal assessment would be arranged among them in a homely atmosphere for manifestation of their Children Psychology.

All the percentage to be carried out from the Unit Test, Half-Yearly Examination and Annual Examination over to the Final assessment i.e. for Promotion shall be shown in the decimal on the Progress Report Card. But after summing all these marks (i.e.U.T + H.Y + Ann. Ex) shall be converted into the round figure at last i.e. in the Grand Total.

The academy shall take into consideration the C.C.E (continuous and comprehensive evaluation) scheme as a part of evaluation procedure for assessments of child understands of knowledge ability, talent and their potentiality to the fullest extent in an academic year.


The minimum marks for Compulsory subjects & Minor subjects:

The minimum marks required for passing the examination is 40% in all Compulsory subjects and 30% in Minor subjects. The Compulsory subjects are: English, General Mathematics, General Science, Social-Science, Assamese, Hindi, and Elective (VIII, IX& X), M.I.L (Assamese, Hindi& etc.) (VII, IX & X) and Minor subjects are Moral Science, General Knowledge, General Computer Drawing, Dictation, Reading, and Handwriting and the Mental Mathematics & Tables etc.


Restriction of division of subjects:

The division of subject’s i.e. compulsory or minor subjects will not be applicable in case of classes VIII, IX & X, and the pass percentage is 30% for them.


Special Instructions on Rechecking of Answer Scripts:

No Parents/Guardians/ Students of the school shall claim for getting back the Answer Scripts of Annual Examination or for bringing home (i.e. no any Guardians/Students shall be allowed to bring the answer scripts of the Final Examination to their home). In particular case, if any guardian/student would not been satisfied on the evaluation process then they may submit a letter of request to the Principal for re-checking (i.e. re-evaluating) of any three papers among all the subjects after declaration of the result of the Annual Examination and the application for the same shall be submitted within the seven days. The whole Rechecking/Re-evaluating Process shall be monitored by the Examination Sub-Committee of the academy under the guidance of head of the institution and if necessary corrections are to be made otherwise ignored.


Reason of Dismissal:

All kinds of misconducts, misbehaviours, disobedience, irregular attendance, violation of discipline in the school, incite any student or teacher or other employee to behave in a rowdy or disorderly manner in the school premises or sickness liable to, for injurious to other children are sufficient reasons for dismissal of the pupil from the school.
